The BC1-THD provides smooth bus compression that applies for both mixing and tracking. The built-in blend control makes it easy to apply parallel compression by adjusting the blend of dry and compressed signal. A switchable sidechain filter can be applied which makes the BC1-THD less responsive to low frequency energy. The THD function adds more harmonics to the signal and the “grab” mode selects a harder threshold knee on all four ratio settings. Smooth and transparent compression will never go out of fashion.

BC1 version history
BC1. Released October 2008
BC1mk2. Higher internal voltage, updated signal path for lower noise, internal jumpers for unbalanced use to add 6dB output gain. (released in October 2011)
BC1-S. New output stage, stepped potentiometers for Threshold, Make-up and Blend. (released in April 2013)
BC1-LTD. 10 year anniversary version, individually numbered on frontpanel, silver panel. Three HPF frequencies, THD function and Grab function (harder knee)
BC1-THD. As above version with standard black panel
I’ve needed the exact piece for years! I thought The Transceiver I was perfect until I got the Transceiver 2!
The Blend knob is incredibly useful when using stomp box compressors and distortion pedals.

The M/S Station unlocks the full potential of my vintage TAB W395a EQs for mastering. Being able to use these in mid/side and blended in to taste is fantastic! As if that wasn’t enough, the elliptical EQ section sounds great, and the stereo width control is handy if adjustments are needed after the previous M/S processing

I’ve been using TK Audio’s mic pres and compressors for years on every recording I’ve made. The new DP3 will be no exception.
