Román Grau & Yves de Souza, Canary Island It's late, but we've finally finished with mixing sessions and continue with recording sessions..., so time to turn on and test "The Strip"!! The first thing we connected was an SM-58 and we are still surprised. It just seems like a much more expensiver microphone. The sound was bright and very nice, but we got surprised by its richness, full of harmonics and more musical. The compressor is simply wonderful: can't hear it working, no artifacts. The blend option is very useful. The equalizer is totally soft and natural.
We had started recording a new song before "The Strip" arrival, but we decided to test The Strip for the overdubs. We connected a Yamaha CS-10 synthesizer and the result was even better than we expected. We recorded a bass line of square wave. It sounded very elegant. We added compression, a small cut of LF and a bit HF enhancement, and we got a sound that we had never achieved, always present and well defined. We connected the U-87 (we had to add gain much more than usual). We recorded several voices with a little compression, later with hard compression and blend it to a comfortable balance. After comparing to the voices we already had recorded before, we've decided to record all tracks again. Using "the strip", voices sound clear, rich and well defined.
Our conclusion is that we will re-record everything we have, so each one of the tracks gets the magic that "the strip" gave to the sound. We feel that the tracks recorded before "the strip" arrival will be harder to mix than the new ones. We regret not having met TK-Audio much earlier. Everything would have been easier. Best regards and thank You very much for your nice work.
Richard Black Melody "The DP1 is a great way of getting a bit of tone colour quickly on whatever you're tracking. The preamps are clean and very useable but it's when you start switching in the Germanium Drive stage and Vintage output stage you quickly realise it's no one trick pony. Great to have separate input and output trim controls so you can get a range of effects from subtle colouring to full on germanium fuzz and pull back the output level so it's still DAW friendly. Sometimes inputting synths direct to the DAW convertors can be a little sterile so i've found the DP1 perfect for giving a little more flavour on the way in to the box."
Andrea Merlini of Minimalrome, Italy an independent electronic music label in Italy are using the BC1during the mastering sessions. BC1 gave me wonderful open sound
Jonathan Gardner, Sidney, Australia. FOH engineer for Empire Of The Sun and Jet amongst others. "I am the very proud owner of a BC-1. I love the unit and use it extensively live and the studio"
Terry Manning, Nassau, Bahamas. Shakira, Lenny Kravitz, Shania Twain, Norah Jones, Boz Scaggs...
"The TK BC-1 has now become my first choice when I want compression on the stereo mix buss. I love the sound, and really like the "Blend" control!"
Justin Stanley, USA. Sheryl Crow, Eric Clapton, Beck, Nikka Costa, Mark Ronson, The Vines, Baby Animals.
"I've been using the TK BC1 as my main drum compression on recent mixes I've done for Eric Clapton, Nikka Costa and Sheryl Crow. The mix control is the key. From letting the signal breath or to slamming it to the wall it still allows the original transients and character of the sound to be heard. It's also a great stereo buss compressor. So now I need to buy another one! Another winner from Thomas Kristiansson."

"I love DP1 preamp and BC1 compressor, a must have in my studio. TK Audio added something new while recreating old equipment. I wish they will do it again on new gear I hope they will build."
Tre Sheppard / Onehundredhours, BC1
"The BC1 is literally amazing! I am stunned... HUGE sound, so punchy, so gluey... anyway, I'm totally stoked. It is just what this mixÂ
needed :)"
Home Music, Georg O Luksch, Vienna, BC1
"The BC1 is sensational!!!! BC1 is doing magic to kick and snare/clap inside a mix, without changing the character of the mix itself."
Jonas Quant, BC1
The first BC1 that was built left the building together with songwriter Jonas Quant ( Kylie Minogue among others )
"Absolutely fantastic!!!!! really punchy!!"
